Socha Nahin Tha....

Socha Nahin Tha Taqdeer Yahan Laayegi
Manzil Pe Aatey Hi Jaan Chali Jaayegi
Yeh To Sikander Ne Bhi Nahin Tha Socha
Aane Se Pehle Hi Khushi Chali Jaayegi
Hummne Sochta Tha Kya Aur Kya Se Kya Hua
Ja Rahe Aaj Yeh Zamane Ko Bata Ke
Yeh Kya Ho Gaya Re Rama Re
Yeh Kya Ho Gaya Re Mowla Re
Yeh Kya Ho Gaya Re Rama Re
Yeh Kya Ho Gaya Re Mowla Re

Tera Kasoor Tha Ya Mera Kasoor Tha
Tera Garoor Tha Ya Mera Garoor Tha
Rabba Main Itna Bura Nahin Hota
Tu Agar Bewafa Nahin To
Itna Bata Mujhe Kya Mila Tujhe
Gham Ki Kaante Meri Raahon Mein Becha
Yeh Kya Ho Gaya Re Rama Re
Yeh Kya Ho Gaya Re Mowla Re
Yeh Kya Ho Gaya Re Rama Re
Yeh Kya Ho Gaya Re Mowla Re

DreamRun

It was August, 2006 and I got call for the Lehman Brother's Interview and I went there just of the preparation and not anything serious in mind to join it. I had couple of rounds of interview and test and as I appeared for the next round and next, I started getting impressed by it. Finally landed an offer with it on my Mom's birthday and after couple of hesitations, I decided to join it.

18th sept, 2006 I became part of LB and a wonderful team. I never looked back since, be it work, professional development, personal life, team outing, and many more things. 2 years which I spent at LB and I can say one thing apart from work and personal life at LB that it has set the best and highest standards in the industry for the employee facilities and employee satisfaction. People out here were treated to the best, LL portal for the any sort of assistance and work life balance was great, not just great I guess best in the standards.

So when I heard of the bankruptcy, it was like a bad bad day for all of us at LB. No one wanted to leave the work culture and name, LB. we hoped, prayed for the survival of the LB but nothing happened and I resigned with a heavy heart and the place which I loved to work for LB. The name LB was no more there and so as I. I moved out the LB and reached Gurgaon, Delhi and that’s where my dream run with the LB ended. I can write so much but I guess I wont be able to give justice to the great place, work and name LB so I can say in just one line, Nothing can match up to LB standards.

Movie Review : Unfaithful

The winds of change blow into the lives of Connie and Edward Sumner. Connie (Diane Lane) literally bumps into young, studly Paul Martel (Olivier Martinez) outside his apartment. She skins her leg, he offers her a chance to clean herself up and she enters his place, which is more like a rare library. Nothing happens, although his attempts at seduction are as subtle as the music he plays, which just screams out “let me bend you over the chair.”

Although Paul never seems to have time to talk to her about anything but getting into her pants, he completely disregards the wedding ring on her finger. I guess two can play at that game. Edward, meanwhile, begins to pick up the subtle hints that something may be going on and Unfaithful quickly becomes the ticking clock of when and how the truth will come out and what its consequences will be. Edward’s final realization turns into an incredibly potent and well-acted confrontation.

The first sexual encounter is shown to us via her flashbacks, giving the sense that she, too, was merely an observer, and not a participant. 'This isn't something I would do,' she seems to think during the train ride home. 'I'm perfectly happy in my marriage.' Her husband, Edward (Richard Gere), is good. Their marriage is comfortable -- but not complacent -- and they have a young son (Erik Per Sullivan) whom they adore. There is no reason for Connie to have an affair. Even she can't figure it out. If she had unsatisfied yearnings, they were unknown even to her.

When Connie implies she may be making a mistake, Paul says to her there are no mistakes, “only what you do and don’t do.” Later in the film when Connie’s son wets his pants, she tells him not to worry because “everyone has accidents.” One time may be an accident but going back to catch the regular nooner matinee, not to mention the scenes and sex in public restaurants, restrooms and hallways is something not thought of.

Connie returns home to her marriage of 11 years and the young son she dotes on. Edward (Richard Gere) knows how attractive his wife is and likes to tease her with jokes about flirting and hitting on her clients at work. There’s no reason for us to suspect she is unsatisfied with her home life, but when Paul’s phone number falls out of the book he gave her, she calls him up. She doesn’t seem to know why she’s doing it but she meets him again and again until she finds herself in his arms and on his bed, shaking like a leaf in a frantically powerful scene that quickly turns from passion into a disturbingly playful form of rape.

Lane's performance is brave and excellent. She endures a lot, and her character is compelling.

“Unfaithful” is certainly a good entry into the familiar Affair Gone Bad and worth watching. I guess "MURDER" movie must been inspired by this one... 3.5 my rating of 5

Movie Review : Shall we Dance

A workaholic lawyer’s life and marriage take an unexpected twirl when he follows a beautiful woman to a Chicago dance studio and becomes a clandestine ballroom dance competitor in SHALL WE DANCE...

John Clark (Richard Gere) is a man with a wonderful job, a charming wife and a loving family, who nevertheless feels that something is missing as he makes his way every day through the city. Each evening on his commute home, John sees a beautiful woman, staring with a lost expression through the window of a dance studio. Haunted by her gaze, John impulsively jumps off the train one night, and signs up for dance lessons, hoping to meet her. At first, it seems like a mistake. His teacher turns out to be not Paulina (Jennifer Lopez), but the older Miss Mitzi, and John proves just as clumsy as his equally clueless classmates on the dance-floor. Even worse, when he does meet Paulina, she icily tells John she hopes he has come to the studio to seriously study dance and not to look for a date. But, as his lessons continue, John falls in love with dancing. Keeping his new obsession from his family and co-workers, John feverishly trains for Chicago's biggest dance competition. His friendship with Paulina blossoms, as his enthusiasm rekindles her own lost passion for dance. But the more time John spends away from home, the more his wife becomes suspicious.

A good movie to watch for and in my opiniom it will rate is 3.5 on a scale of 5.

Happy Birthday to Someone Important in my life...

You've always been there for me
And I know you always will be
You're the one who taught me everything
And you've helped me to see

That you're the one who made me
who I am today
By being that special person,
you know no other way

You taught me life's lessons,
About how to be a good friend,
About being honest
And playing till the end

Whenever I had a problem
You were always there
To walk me through it
Or to just tell me that you care

You were always my protector
Around you I felt so safe
No one could harm me
While I could see your face

I've always trusted you
You're the first person to hold my heart
Cause you are in my heart
And we will never part

Im writing this to say
Thank you for being you
For always being there
For always being true

And today's your special day, since i may not be able to say you on this face any day but truely i respect you and i just want to tell you, "Thank You For Everything...."

Left Over

Daniel and Jasmine

are sitting alone n the park one night….Daniel: I guess we are the left overs n this world
Jasmine: I think so…

All of my friends have boyfriends and we are only the 2 persons left in
this world without any special person
in our lives

Daniel: Yup I don’t know what to do
Jasmine: I know! We’ll play a game

Daniel: What game?
Jasmine : I’ll be your girlfriend for
30 days and you will be my boyfriend

Daniel: That’s a great plan in fact i
don’t have anything to do for the
following weeks…

DAY 1:

They watch their first movie and they
both touched in a romantic film

DAY 4:

They went to the beach and had a
picnic…Daniel and Jasmine had their
quality time together

DAY 12:

Daniel invited Jasmine to a circus and
they rode on a Horror House….Jasmine
was scared and she touched Daniel’s
hand but she touched someone else’s
hand and they both laughed…

DAY 15:

They saw a fortune teller down the road
and they asked for their future advice
and the fortune teller
said: “My darlings, Please don’t waste
the time of your life… spend the
rest of your time together happily”
Then tears flow out from the teller’s
eyes

DAY 20:

Jasmine invited Daniel to go to the
hill and they saw a meteor…Jasmine
mumbled something

DAY 28:

They sat on the bus and because of a
bumpy road Jasmine gave her first kiss
to Daniel by accident

DAY 29:

11:37pm Jasmine and Daniel sat in the
park where they first decided to play
this game…

Danie l: I’m tired Jasmine…Do you
want any drinks? I’ll buy you one..
I’ll just go down the road

Jasmine: Apple Juice that’s all
Daniel: Wait for me….

20 mins later… a stranger approached
Jasmine

Stranger: Are you a friend of Daniel?
Jasmine: Why, yes? What happened?

Stranger: A reckless drunken driver
ran over Daniel and he is critical in
the hospital

11:57 pm

The doctor went out of the emergency
room and he handed out an apple juice
and a letter

Doctor : We found this in Daniel’s
pocket Jasmine reads the letter and it
says:

Jasmine , This past few days, i
realized you are a really cute girl
and i am really falling for you.. Your
cherished smile you were everything
when we played this game…..

Before this game would end… I would
like you to be my girlfriend for the
rest of my life… I love you
Jasmine…
Jasmine crumples the paper
and shouted:

“Daniel! i don’t want you to die… I
love you…
Remember that night when we saw
a meteor, I mumbled something… I
mumbled that I wish we would be
together forever and never end this
game. Please don’t leave me Daniel….
I love you! You cannot do this to me!”

Then the clock strikes 12

Daniel’s heart stop pumping

THEN IT WAS THE 30TH DAY……..

Always love your loved ones and show
them how you feel before it is too
late… You will never know when they
will be gone from your embrace…If you
were given a time to bestow petals of
everlasting compassion and love to
your loved ones.. Today is the day….
Love them while they are still here …

Song of the day : My Love

This is one of my favourite song and i hope you guys love it...

Lyrics : My Love by West Life
An empty street
An empty house
A hole inside my heart
I’m all alone
The rooms are getting smaller
I wonder how
I wonder why
I wonder where they are
The days we had
The songs we sang together
Oh yeah
And all my love
We’re holding on forever
Reaching for the love that seems so far

Chorus
So I say it in a breath
Hope my dreams will take me there
Where the skies are blue
To see you once again my love
All the seas go coast to coast
Find the place I love the most
Where the fields are green
To see you once again my love

I tried to read
I go to work
I’m laughing with my friends
But I can’t stop
To keep myself from thinking

Oh no
I wonder how
I wonder why
I wonder where they are
The days we had
The songs we sang together
Oh yeah
And all my love
We’re holding on forever
Reaching for the love that seems so far

Chorus
So I say it in a breath
Hope my dreams will take me there
Where the skies are blue
To see you once again my love
All the seas go coast to coast
Find the place I love the most
Where the fields are green
To see you once again

To hold you in my arms
To promise you my love
To tell you from my heart
You’re all I’m thinking of
Reaching for the love that seems so far

Chorus
So …So I say it in a breath
Hope my dreams will take me there
Where the skies are blue
To see you once again my love
All the seas go coast to coast
Find the place I love the most
Where the fields are green
To see you once again my love
See you in a prayer
Dreams will take me there
Where the skies are blue
To see you once again my love
All the seas go coast to coast
Find the place I love the most
Where the fields are green
To see you once again my love

Joke of the day : Three Strikes

A farmer just got married and was going home on his wagon pulled by a team of horses. When one of the hoses stumbled, he said, "That's once."
Then it stumbled again. He said, "That's twice."

Then later it stumbled a third time. This time, he didn't say anything, just pulled out a shotgun and shot the horse dead.

His wife cried out and started to yell at him. The farmer turned to her and said, "That's once."

Movie Review : Rock On...

Rock On.... Life doesn’t give every one a second chance.....

A refreshing movie which I guess we rarely see in our bollywood cinema. The story line of the movie is simple and with great acting from Arjun Ramgopal as "Joe Mascarenhas", Farhan Akhtar as "Aditya Shroff", Purab Kohli as "KD" Killer drummer, Luke Kenny as "Rob "Prachi Desai as "Sakshi", Shahana Goswami as "Debbie".

I knew this is going to be a great movie and it went perfectly as per my expectations. Movie starts with the 4 guys, may be in early 20s trying to set up a band, A ROCK BAND... All guys with great skills, KD - Drummer, Joe - Guitarist, Rob on Keyboard and Aditya - the poet. They start and share a great chemistry. Music flows on and they get chance to perform in a competition. A beautiful and mind blowing performance by all of 4 there and as its movie for their band "Magik" they win the competition and a contract of a video. But destiny has something else planned and it doesn’t go as expected. Life moves on and all are now busy in the work, KD in his fathers business, Aditya started smoking, and a big man in Investment banking division, Rob still on keyboard with Anu Malik. And Joe... trying to finding meaning to his life, and only meaning he has is the Music.

There are some really nice scenes which makes us think are we doing what we really love? When we start to grow up, the inner feeling loses its voice; we are no longer able to do what we loved... AS correctly said in the MOVIE: ACCEPTED, the real crime is to kill the passion in ourself and we start doing that. Aditya (Farhan) who is successful businessman is living with his wife and leaving his life. They both seem to be stranger in the one house. They have same postal address but they are very far from each other. He is in his work and only thing he thinks is work, nothing else and that’s it. Sakshi(prachi) tries to come close but instead distance grows. Aditya is running from the life, music and his past.

Put your hands together for one of the finest films of our times. Put your hands together for a director who pulls off a challenging subject with élan. Put your hands together for the actors who pitch in superlative performances.

Rock On!! is not just about music. It's about relationships. And relationships can get really complicated and messy as all of us would agree. Rock On!! captures it so beautifully, so sensitively, so effectively on celluloid.

Everything is in sync here, everything is just perfect. Flaws? Perhaps, the slow pacing. But come to think of it, you can't play with the edit in a film like this.

Rock On!! also works because you can relate to the characters, you can relate to the moods, the egos, the highs and the lows...

In a nutshell, here's a film you just can't afford to miss. We've had our share of masala films week after week. Now have a look at a film that India can proudly showcase to the West. Rock On!! simply rocks!

Joe (Arjun) is teaching the kids guitar and his wife Debbie who is good as fashion is in the family fish business. He has to listen to the argument of his wife. She tells him to compromise, as she wanted to be a fashion designer and instead is handing the business where it’s still the fish smell in her hands. Joe, with an attitude and passion for music is not able to do anything else but just music.

KD, Killer Drummer (Purab) is in family business and is still in touch with all the friends. He has music living in the heart but which doesn’t surface it.

ROB (Luke), keyboard player with a music director and still dreaming to have a performance with the Magik. He wants to live for the moment and that’s what he is wishing for.

Sakshi, a pregnant lady and stressed wife. She is so near but so far from her husband and they are like two polls of magnet. She is the one who I guess is responsible to give "A second chance of Life to all of the four above"

Debbie, A fashion designer now designing the smell of the Fish and packaging for them. Dreams are buried alive and conversation with the Aditya is something touchy.

So all are away but meets once again and what happens is Rock On. A beautiful movie with the beautiful songs, story, picturization, characters, and I guess there is no time to get bore.

Please guys spare a moment and watch "Rock On".

My verdict 4out of 5 and a must watch. I have request one of my friend to watch movie with me and I hope we are able to watch it together. If you really want to see a good movie, "ROck On" is your answer.
And for underlining life's two key themes: One, that “the journey is more important than the destination”; and two, as Aditya says to his wife: “Compromise toh karna padhta hai”

About music of the movie:

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy may hit the bull's eye with this energetic and spirited album. Comprising nine tracks, the album has wonderful lyrics that have been appropriately composed and incredibly rendered by Farhan Akhtar, marking his debut as a singer.

The title song "Rock on" is one of those blessed by Farhan's vocals. With a heavy base and electric guitar strumming, the number has been well composed.

There are a couple of things that stand out in this album and make the difference - Farhan's fresh voice, Javed Akhtar's trendy lyrics and the composers' innovativeness. The album will set the cash registers ringing for sure

It'll teach you something, it'll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever.

All Saints Home... A jounery to future....

I was on my way to visit a home for the aged during a philanthropy event for my office, wondering how I would feel when I saw them and how they live away from their families. None can deny the parents favor upon their children. The parents are the underlying reason for the existence of the child. They have reared him in his babyhood and experienced painstaking efforts to provide full comfort and sound well-being. Your mother had you in her womb while you were a parasite there sharing her food and whole being for nine months.

We started in the morning at about 7.45 from various places of Mumbai to reach Mazgaon. And this visit to an old age home made my heart heavy that day. I have been to orphanages but never to an old age home until the day, we, a team of employees organized this activity by collecting funds and buying gifts, fruits and visit the ‘All Saints Home’ in Mazgaon. I entered the home and saw many old women seated in a hall. There was this very old grandma who was seated a few meters away from the entrance and when I talked to her, I came to know that she was a teacher.

There was one sweet grand mother in the home whose husband died and she didn’t have married since then. I don’t know what to say but my eyes were not wet but on the verge of flooding. I went to the rooms and met one grandma there; she was in the old home since one year. I told her to come out with us and she just looked in my eyes, held my hand and started crying, I don’t know what to say but she came to the main hall with me and she sat on a sofa there, I sat by her legs and she was just crying. I know it’s hard to believe but there are people who thinks parents are kind of responsibility on their head which they can’t carry. How can they do so?

But there were many good points also to remember, when we were at the old age home, all of us thought it will be a kind of serious activity and they being old not much interested in the physical activities like dance. But to my surprise they had sung the songs very well, two of the grandma's danced and sung at the same time. Wow... can you imagine age 70+ and still the spirit of never say die. When it was time to play some music all the grand moms started to dance and I was just wondering who is old in them. We are old or they are old. Each event, including quiz competition they were on target and all of them were having a smile. But I don’t know I felt though they are smiling but a pain resides somewhere in the heart of them and which will not come out. They have buried it and are enjoying each moment as it comes and that’s what I guess we need to learn from them... Live each moment as it comes.

We parted from there after spending approx 4 hours but those 4 hours have added so much in us that we are not as before. And we are thankful to almighty to give us an opportunity to do this.

Thanks to all the team members we were able to share some of their laughs and tears... Finally when we left, I had one thing in my mind,

Why do some children neglect their old age parents and consider them as a burden? Don’t the parents deserve back the love they gave to their children?

Joke of the day

The other night, I was invited out for a night with "the girls." I told my husband that I would be home by midnight. "I promise," were my last words.

The hours passed and the margaritas went down way too easily and around 3 a.m. we piled into a cab and headed to our respective homes, quite inebriated.

Just as I walked through the door, the cuckoo clock in the hall started up and cuckooed 3 times!

Realizing that my husband would probably wake up to this, I quickly cuckooed another 9 times. I was quit pleased with myself for coming up with such a quick witted solution to cover up my tardiness. Even with my impaired judgment, I could count 3 cuckoos plus 9 cuckoos equaled 12 cuckoos!

The next morning, my husband asked me what time I got in, and confidently, I replied, "Midnight...like I promised." He didn't even raise and eyebrow and went on reading the morning paper! Phew! Got away with that one!

After a moment, he then replied, "I think we might need a new cuckoo clock."

A bit nervously, I asked him why, to which he responded:

"Well, last night our clock cuckooed 3 times, then said, 'Oh, crap,' cuckooed 4 more times, cleared it's throat, cuckooed another 3 times, giggled, cuckooed twice more, then tripped over the coffee table and farted."
