Book Review : Brida by Paulo Coelho

Brida,

This is the story of Brida, a young Irish girl (I am sure beautiful, as author has described her very pretty), and her quest for knowledge. She has long been interested in various aspects of magic but is searching for something more. It is tale of love, passion, mystery and spirituality from the master author, Paul Coelho.

I don’t know what I liked about this book but I am going to put some of the text from the book and write what I felt for it... and hope it will give you an insight on what the book is all about,

On one of the page author says,
"...each person can take one of two attitudes; to build of to plant..."

I don’t know how it sounds to you guys but it perfectly right as in our course of action, we take two ways, either to build or to destroy and it’s till destiny we face of the consequences of it. What author about to build is,
"...Life loses it meaning when building stops", and for to plant he says, "... in history of each plant lies the growth of the world...”

When Author begins the story and introduces the central character of the novel, Brida, 21 years old, he describes her as a teen-ager, in faded jeans and T-shirt. A girl who might be older by thoughts but very pretty and young by looks. She is looking for an answer regarding life...wants to travel in the time. Magus, one of the characters in the novel, who is master of tradition of Sun, leaves in a forest and Brida, is standing in front of him, thinking about him as an interesting man. Question which he asks to Brida and answer which she gives is amazing. Magus asks her what if you fell in love, and in the day I (means Magus) teach you the wisdom of cosmos and in the night he (means someone Brida loves) teaches her wisdom of Love. What if you need to choose any one out of two? Study or your love. And to this Brida replies that she will choose her love. Since she said truth, Magus agrees to teach her. But this part of story keeps all of us thinking, how many times in the life we came across situation, where we need to choose and instead what we do is what pleases certain person, but not to us. Here Brida thought if she said she will move, Magus might not teach her, but instead he agrees. Brida doesn’t think about what’s has not happen yet, but she says what she felt, and how many times we have done that in our life?

Story moves on and Magus becomes teacher of Brida. She takes an important lesson of life and moves back from where she came on a note to come back for further knowledge of the mysterious world. On the city where Brida lives, she gets a chance to meet Wicca, who in contrary to Magus follows the tradition of the Moon. Brida visits her for the more knowledge and knowing Magus was interested in her, Wicca decides to meet her. They talk about the Tarot cards and story of cards. They talk about Soulmate, a part on which this entire novel is based upon. Tradition of Sun, Moon and Soulmate the main pillars of the book. Author carefully tells about the Love at First site and what soulmate is beautifully and makes us believe that there is a science which is out of reach of common man.

Brida, travels back in time, and looks at the past birth of her thanks to the tarots and conversation with Wicca. This makes the chapters even more interesting to read. Wicca again talks of soulmate here and a para which states that is so beautiful that I can’t resist myself mentioning it here

"In the Night of time when we were separated, one of those was charged with nurturing and maintaining knowledge:man. He went on to understand agriculture, nature and the movements of the stars in the sky. Knowledge was always the power that kept the Universe in its place and starts turning in their orbits. That was the glory of man......

....

To Women was given something far more subtle and fragile, but without which knowledge makes no sense at all, all that was transformation. The men left the soil fertile, we sowed trees and soil was transformed into trees and plants

The soil needs the seed, and the seed needs the soil......."

I don’t know how Paul managed to write so beautiful on the relationship of a man and woman and process of birth. It’s simply amazing.

Brida goes to the Magus again for getting the answers which comes in front of her due to Wicca and Magus is happy to see her, why? (Read the book to get more details)

Brida keeps on taking and talking to Magus and Wicca for her knowledge quest and story moves greatly in to the event of the actions. We also come to know that Dark night is the only way to grow. Dark night if compared with our life, is like, problems which are like dark night can be the only way to grow...

Science of clothes, meaningful things and diary, many things like this keep happening on the following pages and you feel your self tied to the book. Power of love (here, sex) and it says to achieve maximum knowledge you must have felt it... wow... can you believe it, but sometimes even I feel, sex can be a great teacher too...

There are many things in the book that I can talk about and go on and on but that wont be right as, book deserves it share of success and to know more you much read the books, another para which I was very much impress is,

No one can possess a sunset like the one we saw that evening, he went on. Just as no one can possess an afternoon of rain beating against the window, or the serenity of a sleeping child, of the magical moment when the waves break on the rocks. No one can possess the beautiful things of this Earth, but we can know them and love them. It is through such moments that God reveals him self go mankind.

Before I sigh off the review of this book, just last line from the book which I want to quote,

Knowing that you existed was my one reason for continuing to live

Movie Review : Kung Fu Panda

Po (The Panda in the movie) works faithfully in his family’s noodle shop, but by night he dreams of becoming a true master of the martial arts. Po's defining characteristic appears to be that he is the laziest of all the animals in ancient China.

So story goes like this, one fine day the while selection of the Dragon Fighter, Pa falls from the sky on a firecracker and gets selected as someone who will bring the peace to the valley. The Furious Five legends Tigress , Crane , Mantis , Viper, Monkey, and their wise sensei, Master Shifu, all draw on their vast knowledge of fighting skills in order to transform a lumbering panda bear into a lethal fighting machine.

The villain snow leopard Tai Lung gets him self free from the jail and comes over to fight the dragon fighter. Animation in the movie is simply amazing and i loved the way Pa learns the kung fu and way he makes fun around.

Animation is great, story is simple and amaZing, worth one time watch... a great movie and message it gives, There is nothing called as secret ingredient, believe in our self go get what we want... Go and watch it... Nice movie

Movie Review : Hancock

Hancock.. A new Superhero..A new tough guy.. And someone in love again. His powers include flight, invulnerability, fantastic physical strength and extreme longevity.

There are heroes… there are superheroes… and then there’s Hancock (Will Smith).
Hancock is a story of Hancock, a drunk, a super-hero who is staying in the LA to save the people out of trouble. He regularly saves lives and catches criminals. Hancock is misunderstood, and even though his heroic acts and getting job done he is not having a great fan following. City people hate him for the damages that Hancock makes. And Hancock doesn’t care what the people has opinion about him.

Before we see Hancock in movie, it starts with 3 people who are being chased by LAPD by cars and helicopters. Hancock flies in the sky, picks it up in the air and places the vehicle atop the needle on the Capitol Records building, leaving thousands of dollars of damage. One fateful day Hancock saves Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman) from a freight-train collision with his car, but the drunken superhero does this in such a haphazard manner as to cause considerable damage to the subsequently derailed freight cars. Ray teaches Hancock to politely compliment the police whenever the situation merits it. He also supplies him with a very simply-designed costume after other models are rejected by Hancock as being "homo" (that is really funny). Also one of part where he puts head of one of the criminal in the A*S of another buy because he tells him A*SH**E, movie is funny, action packed and a simple, unforgettably simply love story.

After a month in jail as per Ray’s advice, he is summoned by the Chief of Police to help save a female officer who is seriously injured down in a bank robbery shootout. Hancock takes his recent sensitivity training by Ray to say good job and take permissions, not to damage properties, to ridiculous extremes in asking the trapped woman's permission to touch her, saying her its not sexually he is trying to touch here (real funny) but then carries her out of harm's way and neutralizes the gang. However, Red (Eddie Marsan), the leader of the robbers, is holding down a dead man's switch on a detonator and requires a little more finesse. After being called an asshole by Red (a word, Hancock hates) , Hancock defuses the situation by cutting the man's hand at the wrist.

After the operation, Hancock becomes popular, as Embrey had told him. Ray and his wife Mary (Charlize Theron) go out to dinner with Hancock, where he relates how he woke up 80 years earlier with no memories of his former life. Later that night, while Ray sleeps after passing out from drinking too much, Hancock discovers that Mary has super powers as well, when he kisses her. Mary reveals that they are the last two "gods" or "angels" on Earth and have been together off and on for nigh unto 3,000 years. All of the others of their kind have died - when they get too close to each other they become mortal, and this makes them susceptible to aging, injury and death. These immortals were created in pairs and are inevitably drawn towards each other; she has been Hancock's twin flame and spouse for the last three millennium. She left him after he lost his memory following an attack in order to keep him from becoming mortal.

Mary and Hancock have a brief spat over revealing this fact to Ray, inadvertently doing just that in the process. Hancock is later shot twice in the chest when he stops a liquor store robbery. When he is admitted to the hospital, the news media covers it, thus revealing his location. Shortly before this the news had also revealed that Red had orchestrated a jail break during which eight men escaped. Along with two other men, whom Hancock humiliated in a confrontation during his first day in prison, the revenge-driven villain heads to the hospital. Mary is shot while attempting to protect Hancock. Hancock finishes off the henchmen but is severely wounded during the confrontation. Just as Hancock is about to be killed by a one-handed Red, Ray grabs a fire axe and chops the killer's other hand off before killing him with another blow. Mary is saved and Hancock's powers are fully restored in the wake of his discharge from the hospital.

What I liked the best in the movie was a silent message which says, when you love someone it doesn’t mean, you have to be with them... You can love them with all you have.. And still you choose to leave apart for the better of them...

Characters of the movie are as follows,

Will Smith as John Hancock, an alcoholic, down-and-out, incredibly sarcastic superhero. He is invulnerable, does not age, possesses superhuman strength, and can fly at supersonic speeds.

Jason Bateman as Ray Embrey, a corporate public relations consultant whose life Hancock saves.

Charlize Theron as Mary Embrey, Ray's wife(I love her and she is simply amazing).

Movie Review : Jaane tu ya jaane na....

Opposites attract. But they do repel as well. Such is the story of Jai and Aditi, the protagonists of ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’.Set in a college campus, the film is a tale of friendship, bonding and love. It is about discovering love in one’s heart.

It starts with the story telling...A gal of gujju guy goes to airport to receive friends of his. And since flight is delayed (Wow... a very unique thing of hindi movie), and there they start with STORY of Aditi and Jay.

Jay, from Royal family in Rajasthan living with her mom in Mumbai, is not a typically Dare, angry young man types. Jai is a Rajput, but he can’t even kill an ant. He is perhaps the most non-violent Rajput you would find in either side of the Aravallis. But instead he is cool, calm and composed. Aditi, ever ready to fight.. to punch and to go on extremes of the emotions.Aditi is the diametric opposite of Jai. She is violent and over-passionate. The most unfortunate thing a person can do is pick a fight with her. When Aditi shoots off her mouth, there is no stopping her. Both are together for 5 years of college life, and 4 other friends of them. And there are others as well in the campus group. There is Rotlu who weeps secretly for Aditi. There is Bombs whose heart throbs for Jai. There is Jiggy who applies golden mascara to his hair. And there is Shaleen, the ever-enthusiastic guitar player. A gujju guy, a gitar gal, a rotlu and someone late to undertand the things. All 6 of them are simply amazing. In guest appearance there are, Nasruddin shah (father of jay), Arbaaz and Sohail khan, riding horses in city and going to dance clubs on them... wow isn’t that great??

Movie is quite simply plotted with simpllllle(yes, with so many l's) to understand the things, flow is here and there... songs are quite good... and I am in love with Aditi song... Genelia is quite good looking... Imraan leaves an impression but I guess needs sometime before he really rocks... Brother of the Genellia in the movie is quite good and his pet, a Rat...

Movie is Great and I will really love to watch it again....

Seven...

The Number 7 has for ages been regarded as the Number of mystery relating to the spiritual side of things,
the seven, whenever mentioned, always stands in relation to the spiritual or mysterious God force, and has a curious significance in this sense whenever employed.
For a few instances of this, take the seven days (or cycles) of the creation as referred to in Genesis:

The seven heavens, so often referred to.
The seven thrones.
The seven seals.
The seven churches.
The seven Devas of the Hindus' Bible.
The seven Angels of the Chaldeans.
The seven Amschaspands of Persian faith.
The seven Sephiroth of the Hebrew Cabala.
The seven Archangels of Revelation, etc. etc.

7 is a Prime Number.

7 is a Mersenne Number.

7 is an Octahedral Number.

7 is a Lucas Number.

7 is a Centered Hexagonal Number.

7 is a Heptagonal Number.

7 is a Hexagonal Pyramidal Number.

7 is the maximal number of regions into which 3 lines divide a plane.

The 7 colors of the rainbow.

The 7 double letters of the Hebrew Alphabet.

The 7 classical planets.

Seventh heaven is the farthest of the concentric spheres containing the stars in the Moslem and cabalist systems.

Seven is the maximum number of eclipses of the Sun and Moon that can occur in any one year.

The 7 directions: north, south, east, west, up, down and the center.

In almost every system of antiquity there are frequent references to the number seven.

There are seven visible planets and luminaries (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn). Each one rules a day of the week (Sun=Sunday, Saturn= Saturday, Moon=Monday, etc.) and that is where the seven day week came from. Each one is supposed to have a particular virtue or power.

7 is the number of fortunate people to get birth on..

Wishes for the day...

Mind or Heart

The heart is always right—
if there's a question of choosing between the

mind and the heart—
because mind is a creation of the society.
It has been educated.
You have been given it by the society,
not by existence.
The heart is unpolluted.

Have a Nice Day….

Movie Review : The Incredible Hulk

What to say about this movie. Action packed, an explosive movie with unfulfilled but not incomplete love of Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) and Betty Ross (Liv Tyler).

Bruce, if got angry, becomes an uncommon man, a strong creature, created by a gamma ray explosion, lives silently hiding in Brazil and works at a drinks company. Where by accident he reveals his identity to the persons who are searching for him. This nasty U.S. general has discovered his whereabouts -- and this guy desperately wants the secret to The Hulk. The general wants the DNA samples of the Bruce and might want to recreate some of them. He gives the some of the lab-generated medicines to one of the soldier, played by Tim Roth and that creates a fight of titans between them on the college campus. A scene where hulk, means Bruce saves the Betty, by covering her after the high pitch volume generating machines is touchy. And when Betty says to Brice, "Its OK", wow.. can you imagine a girl talking to a beast of 7+ft, and huge, green in color, looking straight in eyes that its OK. Hulks eyes filled with tears, which never came out i guess. Love scene where they both get passionate and stops because it increases the Bruce's beats... Scene where Bitty sells of her necklace.. I must say a good movie. Full of actions and everything...

Lastly but not least, Bruce buying it back an d giving it back to her... A great end to a great love story of an action movie. It says, though we are not together but it grows and it has..

Actions are amazing.. sequence of events and all packed to make Hulk a good bet of Money.

A clean Bath of Mumbai

Monday Night and Tuesday Morning was a shower time for Mumbai with all the promises by Mumbai Comissionar, BMC also washed away with them. Rain was too much...a relief from traffic for a day as there was no smoke or line of the vehicles but flow of water on the roads, and people, vehicles waiting for them to be cleared.

What so ever it may be but life of Mumbai Never stopped, people continued to work and people were running as usual. What most thing about Mumbai is it never stops. Floods, Blasts, anything, we will walk, we will run but we will never say die.

I simply love the way people handle the things here... Kudos to all the people...
